In 1984 Barbara Bauer, Ph.D., established the agency and began specializing in the development and marketing of new and unpublished authors. At the time, new authors were not encouraged by literary agents. We offer lots of encouragement and support to our clients. As a result, we have seen people really blossom here. It's a great feeling to help someone achieve their potential.

Our authors have been published worldwide in English as well as French, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Serbo-Croatian, Vietnamese, German, Dutch, etc.

We have sold all types of books for adults and children, as well as poetry, educational materials and dramatic works.  Many of our clients are award-winning authors and well-recognized in their respective fields.  In addition, our authors have appeared on  popular national television talk shows, in national magazines, newspapers and radio broadcasts.  The Barbara Bauer Literary Agency, Inc., has an extensive track record of sales to advance and royalty-paying publishers, and leads the vanguard in quality and excellence.  Our clients' works have been reviewed in such prestigious publications as Booklist, Library Journal and Publishers Weekly to name just a few.

WHAT WE DO

We sell the rights to literary and dramatic works.  We negotiate  contracts, collect money for our clients and pay our clients the proceeds.  We also develop platforms for our authors to publicize themselves, increase their incomes and achieve literary, artistic and professional recognition.
