I'm sorry to those who just went to work,

To those who will now have to worry where evil may lurk;

I'm sorry to those who suffer a personal pain

To those who were killed by an action insane.

I'm sorry to those who responded to the call,

To those who were trapped and what was lost in the fall.

Unfortunately, my apology will not help a nation to heal,

But I'm sorry to America for the tragedy in which we must deal.
